Racine – Mildred L. (nee, Clarey) Mortensen, 91, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Mildred was born in Racine on April 26, 1919 to Louis Owen and Lydia Bertha (nee, Luedtke) Clarey. Mildred married Gilbert T. Mortensen in 1939. He preceded her in death in October 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and the 55 club at the church and volunteered with St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by her sons, Dennis (Gretchen) Mortensen and Donald (Cindy) Mortensen; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mildred is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters-in-law, Linda Mortensen and Kris Mortensen; and her brother, Louis R. Clarey. A funeral service for Mildred will be held at the West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Wheaton Franciscan Garden of Hope.
