Melvin G. GulleyRacine- Melvin G. Gulley, 64, passed away at Woodstock Health and Rehab Center on Thursday, February 24, 2011.Mel was born in Prairie Du Rocher, IL on November 1, 1946 to Melvin and Bernice (nee: Phillips) Gulley. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mel married Linda Neklewicz in Milwaukee on September 19, 1970. He was owner and operator of Image Builders. He was a hard worker with a passion for building and considered his career a hobby not a job. Mel was extremely proud of his Cherokee heritage. He was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Sammy. Mel enjoyed golf, Packer Games, playing the Stampede machines in Vegas and enjoying the sunshine on the beaches of Cancun.He is survived by his loving wife Linda Gulley; children, Jeremiah Gulley and Heather (David) Kinservik; grandchildren, Emma, Matthew and Logan Kinservik; sister, Toni Reynard; sister in law, Roxy (Bob) Brault; brother in law, Rick (Sally) Neklewicz and nephews Chris and Erik Brault. Mel is also survived by many other loyal and caring friends and family. Mel truly appreciated all of the relationships he was fortunate enough to establish while working at Potawatomi Casino, as owner of Image Builders and as an agent for John Hancock Insurance. Mel is preceded in death by his parents and mother and father in law.Funeral services for Mel will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4340 Six Mile Road on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Hinrichs. Relatives and friends may meet with the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials to the Joseph Myers Memorial Scholarship at Gateway Technical College have been suggested.The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Schneeberger, Dr. Daniel Haller, Nurse Practitioner Brian Carlson and the entire staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center for their compassionate and excellent care.
