Melvin J. Beth, 83, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Mel was born in Racine on July 10, 1930 to Elmer and Anna (nee, Ulmer) Beth. He married the former Diane Burdick and were married fifty years. She preceded him in death in 1998. Mel married Barbara (Olson) Zakowski and have been married fifteen years. He owned and operated Mel's Auto Repair. Mel loved his children and many grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Beth; children, David (Nancy) Beth, Gary Beth, Debra (Steven) Daly, Linda (Greg) Richards, Cynthia Beth, Melvin (Nicole) Beth, Jr., Daniel (Tina) Beth and Martha (Larry) Dubin; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Beth. Mel is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Funeral services for Mel will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. David Wierschke officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice for all of their care and kindness.
