RACINE – Mavis B. Kettinger, 95, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Monday, January 29, 2018. Mavis was born in Appleton, WI on November 28, 1922 to William and Clara (nee, Lang) Melcher. She married Earl J. Kettinger, celebrating 68 years of marriage until his death in 2015. Mavis graduated from Wm. Horlick High School where she was a cheerleader and where she met Earl. Mavis contributed to the war effort working for Dumore Mfg. during World War II until Earl returned from service and they married and started a family. Mavis' passions revolved around that family and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that followed. She will forever be in their hearts.Survivors include her children, Carol (Guenther) Lippold, James (Mary) Kettinger; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Killberg, Steve Killberg, Megan (Dan) Miller, Jennifer (Chris) Anderson, Scott (Tiffany) Lippold, James (Emily) Kettinger, Jr., and David Kettinger (Kayla Eilers); great grandchildren, Colin and Peyton Killberg, Gabriel Killberg, Lauren and Ethan Miller, Katie and Joel Anderson and Andrew, William, and Grace Lippold. Mavis is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Terry Killberg; her parents; her sister, Muriel and twin sister, Marvis and their spouses; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gervase and Alice Kettinger, and Marie and Joseph Beres. A visitation for Mavis will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wisconsin Veterans Home – Union Grove.
