Racine – Mary Anna (nee, Parino) Yocco, 94, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, on August 21, 2013 while at home, surrounded by the love of her family.Mary was born in Redington, PA on February 4, 1919 to Pasquale and Cologeria "Katie" (nee, Magilo) Parino. Mary spent her childhood in Easton, PA and Phillipsburg, NJ before making Wisconsin her home in 1946. She worked as a waitress at Harmony Dairy, where she met Albert A. Yocco whom she married on September 25, 1948. Al and Mary celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to his death on March 7, 1998. In addition to Harmony Dairy, Mary worked many years at the Danish Brotherhood and Sentry Food Store in the deli and bakery. She retired from Sentry in 1981. Mary's passion was her love for Jesus and her faith in God. She never missed an opportunity to ask, "Do you know the Lord?" often commenting that she was as old as she was because her work for God was not done. Mary loved to cook for her family and friends making holidays and weddings extra special with her Italian cookie trays. She delighted in telling stories about her life as a child growing up on West Street. Mary especially enjoyed playing cards and attending "Cousin's Club". Those who knew Mary appreciated her light-hearted and simply unique sense of humor which often made hard times easier. Mary is survived by her children, Ray Yocco of Racine, Pat (Pablo) Ramirez of Oklahoma City, OK, Debi Massegee of Owasso, OK, Judy Yocco of Phoenix, AZ, Carrie (Greg) France of Watonga, OK, and John Yocco with his girlfriend Kim Pawzun of Racine. She is further survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Jan Yocco, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joan Veon; granddaughter, Joy Yocco; sons-in-law, Rodney Pierce and Jerry Massegee; her brother Joe; sisters Grace and Ange; mother and father-in-law; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law. Funeral services for Mary will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the immediate family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
