Racine- Mary Mahdasian, 81, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Monday, June 21, 2010.Mary was born in Racine to Nishan and Margaret (nee; Torosian) Mahdasian on June 9, 1929. She was employed as a printer for JI Case Company until her retirement. Mary was a member of St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church. She was an Armenian school teacher and enjoyed singing in the choir. Mary is survived by her siblings, Paul (Marilouise) Mahdasian, Charles Mahdasian, and Lucy Gelenian; 2 nieces, Mary (George) Korkgy and Elma Sardarian and 4 nephews, Keri (Laina) Gelenian, Marc (Lisa) Gelenian, David (Liz) Mahdasian and Raffi (Melinda) Mahdasian. She is also survived by other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Esther Mahdasian and Katherine Saradarian.Private funeral services for Mary will be held. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church have been suggested.
