Racine – Marlin Edward James, 80, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012. Marlin was born in Racine on September 18, 1932 to John and Harriett (nee, Hansen) James. He was married to Caroline Bedard, the love of his life, for 45 years before she preceded him in death. Marlin was retired from S.C. Johnson & Sons. Marlin enjoyed his life to the fullest, mostly spending time with his family. He loved going to hockey games, bowling, golfing, fishing and playing cards. He will be sadly missed by his family. Survivors include his son John (Valerie) James; grandchildren, Brian James and Kiersten James; and his sister, Janet Thorsen. Marlin is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duane James; and his sister, Shirley Mayer. Funeral services for Marlin will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Avenue, on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer have been suggested.
