Racine – Mark A. 'Sparky' Johnson, 60, passed away at home on Friday, August 31, 2012 after a long valiant battle with cancer. Sparky was born in Racine on December 20, 1951 to Henry I. and Ermgard (nee, Hoffman) Johnson. He married the former Sharon Eickhorst. Sparky had been employed by Earl Heffel and Sons for many years. Sparky leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon Johnson and his dog, Goofy. He is further survived by his mother, Ermgard Johnson; father-in-law, Thomas Eickhorst; brother-in-law, Jim (Deb) Eickhorst of Bemidji, MN and sister-in-law, Linda (Robert) Hocutt of Hartland, WI. Sparky is also survived by nieces, a nephew, God-daughters; great-nephew, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and mother-in-law, Fran Simonsen. In keeping with Sparky's wishes, cremation will take place and private family services will be held. All in all, to those who knew him, he would rather be in Bora Bora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice Alliance and to Dr. Ruggeri and his staff for all of their compassionate care. They would also like to thank Joseph Mrazek and Frank Rosselli for their love, patience and understanding.
