RACINE – Marjorie L. Jensen, nee Halberstadt, 88, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Friday, August 7, 2015. Marge was born in Racine on February 8, 1927 to Elmer "Happy" and Sarah (nee, Miller) Halberstadt and had been a lifelong resident. On August 6, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to William E. Jensen. She graduated from Horlick High School in 1945 and earned an R.N. Degree in 1948 from Lutheran Deaconess Hospital Nursing School in Chicago. Marge worked at St. Luke's Hospital and Becker-Shoop during her years as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed playing and watching tennis and was a devoted Cubs fan. Surviving are her husband, William E. Jensen; daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Schatzley of Ohio; sons, Steve Jensen of Racine and Scott (Traci) Jensen of Muskego; grandchildren, Nick (Allison) Schatzley, Brittany, Eric and Matthew Jensen; and great-grandsons, Landon and Garrett Schatzley. Marge also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Halberstadt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Glenn and Carl Halberstadt; sisters-in-law, Del Mae and Betty Ann Halberstadt; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William C. and Flossie Jensen. A memorial gathering for Marge will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 4 until 6 p.m. As per Marge's wishes, there will be no service. A private family inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Allay Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs at Becker-Shoop Center and Allay Hospice who cared for Marge.
