Marion Ruth StorvesRacine-Marion Ruth Storves, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Hancock, MI on October 8, 1926, daughter of the late George and Victoria (Richards) Dionne. Marion graduated from Houghton, MI High School in 1944 and went on to graduate from St. Joseph's School of Nursing (Hancock, MI) in 1947. She married 'the only one for her' Roy (Jake) Storves in 1948 at St. Joseph's Parish in Hancock, MI. Marion was a devoted Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and Lincoln Lutheran Home and a member of Sacred Heart Church, in Racine. Throughout her life, Marion enjoyed traveling to all 50 states with Jake and her family. She held her roots close and returned to Northern Michigan on a yearly basis. She was the Girl Scout Leader for Troop #9 and the wonderful girls left an everlasting impression on her. Surviving Marion are her husband of 62 years, Jake; children, Mary Ellen (Bill Crooks) Lee of Lake Metigoshe, ND, James (Dawn) Storves of Racine, Carolyn (John Dorner) Crook of Asheville, NC, and Joanne (Bob) Houillon of Wauwatosa, WI; grandchildren, Katie Rose Crooks, Alyssa and Van Wharton, Nicole, Jenna and Bobby Houillon; and her brother, James (Nancy) Dionne of Dollar Bay, MI. Following Marion's wishes, there will be no visitation and a mass will be dedicated to her life at Sacred Heart Church. "Do not stand at my grave and weep – I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamonds' glint on the snow. I am the thrush of birds at morn and evening tide – Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die."
