Obituary

Racine – Marion F. Konsinowski, 94, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Marion was born in Hammond, IN on April 9, 1918 to Hector and Florence, (nee, Arndt) Paton. She married Russell C. Konsinowski on October 3, 1946 in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1987. Marion retired from Western Printing Company in 1979 after more than twenty years. She loved her family which was very dear to her. Many words could be used to describe her: humble, compassionate, caring, loving, generous, fun, funny and fun loving, faithful and loyal, a listening ear and a willingness to help when and how she could. She had a huge heart for dogs – never wanted to be without a companion - had many dogs which she provided with a good home. Marion enjoyed word and number puzzles, cooking and baking, which she shared with others. She was famous for her potato pancakes and her fudge which was a Christmas treat. Marion knitted afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years she attended Union Grove Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord as her Savior. Marion is survived by her children, Dick (Bonnie) Konsinowski, Gene (Sue) Konsinowski both of Racine and Judy (Jerry) Lebrick of Union Grove; grandchildren, David (Maddy) Johnson of New York City, Michael Konsinowski, Kelli (Joe) Bertone, Callie Konsinowski, Ashley Konsinowski and Robert (Tammy) Nelson; step-grandchildren, Denise (William) Larson, Jeff Lebrick and Greg Lebrick; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Lucie Bertone; step-great-grandchildren, Callie, Brett and Tom Larson; her sister, Lorraine Stewart; and brother-in-law, Robert Petak. Marion is also survived by nieces, nephews, special friends, Glen and Dorothy Smith, Sharon Willkomm and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Petak; infant brother, Richard Paton; granddaughters, Jamie and Jennifer Konsinowski; brother-in-law, John Stewart; and niece, Debra Stewart. Funeral services for Marion will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. George Schlagel officiating, preceded by a short visitation from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to H.O.P.E. Safehouse.
