Marion J. Holman TweetRacine- Marion J. Holman Tweet, 85, passed away at her residence on May 31, 2008. Marion was born October 14, 1922 in Osseo to Ernest and Clara (nee: Rindahl) Holman. Her Early life centered around her music, including leading roles in high school musicals, singing in the St. Olaf choir and winning top honors as a high school choir director. Marion graduated from St. Olaf in 1946 and followed with graduate studies at Northwestern. She also took a trip biking through Norway and Europe. Marion left her teaching position in 1952 when she and Orlando were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and moved to Racine. They started a family and she was a homemaker for 20 years. During that time she was Choir Director at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection leading adult choir but mainly the 3 Youth Choirs. She especially enjoyed producing 2 Christian Musicals Tell It Like It Is in 1970-72 and Lazarus in 1990 both touring around the state and Chicago. In 1972 she started her second career as a Social Worker for Racine County for 15 years working her way up to heading the Adult Foster Care Program. After retiring in 1987, she traveled with her husband to Norway, Europe, Cuba, Australia, Russia, and Mexico. Marion was also active with her husband in many social Justice and Peace Pursuits. As the years went by she enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandson, reading, and word puzzles. Marion was also a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Throughout her life her faith and trust in God were an inspiration to her family and those who know her. Her family is comforted knowing she is reunited with Orlando, who preceded her in death April 3, 2008. Marion is survived by her children, Vickee Griffin, Christina (John Carr) Tweet, and Jean Ellen (Robert Sill) Tweet; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristin Griffin, Charles Carr, Andrew, Peder, and Eliot Sill; great grandson, Isaiah Griffin; and sister, Vivian Seiverd. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Holman.A service of music and celebration for Marion will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Carol Baumgartner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Memorials to St. Andrew Lutheran Church have been suggested.The family would like to thank Orlando's granddaughter Kristin for all of the devoted and loving care that she gave to her grandfather during the last year.
