Marion R. Andersen, 93, passed away at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital on Sunday, January 2, 2022.Marion was born in Racine on October 23, 1928, to August and Lula (nee: Nehring) Rasmussen. She graduated from Washington Park High School. Marion married her beloved husband Martin C. Andersen on May 7, 1949. They celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing in 2013. She was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority as well as a member of the Danish Sisterhood of Racine and the Midwest Danish Sisterhood. She formerly attended Emmaus Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild for many years. Marion enjoyed a variety of things such as playing cards, bowling, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Most importantly she cherished the time spent with her family.She will be deeply missed by her daughters and sons in law, Nancy (the late Lance) LaForest, Mary (Kurt) Kophamer and Janet (David) Macemon, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sisters Carol Adams and Billie Steidl, and dear friend and companion Walter Geibel. Marion is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, June Gatti and Doris Smader. A private service for Marion will be held. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park.
