Our dear, sweet, mother, Marilyn J. Murrack, 97, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at St. Monica’s Memory Care.

She was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on August 28, 1928 to the late Kenneth and Florence (nee: Hawkenson) Crilley.

On July 27, 1946, at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, she married Melvin C. Murrack. As a loving wife and mother, Marilyn was blessed with two daughters and 57 years of marriage. Sadly, Melvin passed away on January 3, 2004.

Both Marilyn and Mel were faithful members of Emmanuel, now Journey in Faith, and served on the church council.

She was a 1946 graduate of William Horlick High School and later helped organize class reunions with her former classmates.

Marilyn’s family was always her priority. She was also very active in the community. She enjoyed delivering Welcome Wagon baskets to the new families of Racine. Marilyn was active with the Racine Children's Theatre Guild and “Cardiac Capers,” a fund- raising committee for the All Saints Cardiac department. Marilyn enjoyed playing bridge and had many laughs with her friends the “Taco Belles.” Being an avid golfer, she was thrilled the day she shot a hole in one.

She was employed by the Racine Area Chamber of Commerce as Director of Public Relations. As a member of RAMAC, she served on the Police and Fire Commission. Marilyn was instrumental in implementing Crime Stoppers in Racine and served on the Salmon-A-Rama organizational committee.

She is survived by her daughters Marlene (John) Becker and Melanie Savasta; her grandchildren Nicholas (Julie) Savasta and Timothy (Kristal) Savasta; and her great-grandchildren Landon, Raegan, Rowan, Louie, Lucy and Lilah.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Abbott, and many close cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 3825 Erie Street, Racine. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Private interment will be held in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Health Care Network of Racine and St. Monica’s Memory Care have been suggested.
