Marilouise Mahdasian, 79, of Racine, WI, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on February 7, 2025.
Marilouse was born on July 25, 1945, in Haifa, Palestine, and she immigrated to the United States from Beirut, Lebanon with her family in 1960. Marilouise worked as a hairstylist for many years in Philadelphia, PA, and Racine, WI. She married Paul Mahdasian on August 22, 1970.
Marilouise was a loving caregiver. After raising her two sons, she helped to raise her six grandchildren, and she worked as a daycare provider for many years. Marilouise was also dedicated to her Racine Armenian community. She was a member of the St. Hagop's Armenian Apostolic church choir for over 50 years and a member of the local chapter of the Armenian Relief Society. She also volunteered her time working with children at St. Hagop's Armenian School.
In her free time, Marilouise enjoyed being with family, gardening, and entertaining. She loved to cook and bake, and she regularly shared her delicious meals and amazing pastries with friends and family.
Marilouise was preceded in death by her parents, Nishan and Satenig DerKaloustian; her brother, Archpriest Mousheg DerKaloustian (Yn. Vartouhi); her sister, Isgouhi Bedrossian (Antranig); her sister, Shake Nashalian; and her sister, Asdghig Kazanjian. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Paul Mahdasian; her son, David Mahdasian (Liz); her son, Raffi Mahdasian (Melinda); her grandchildren, Nishan, Alec, Nadya, Carter, Ethan, and Matthew; and her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Hagop's Armenian Apostolic Church, 4100 N Newman Rd, Racine, WI. Services will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Hagop's Armenian Apostolic church or the Alzheimer's Association have been suggested.
