Marilee J. NelsonRacine- Marilee J. Nelson, 71, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Saturday, April 9, 2011.Marilee was born in Racine on February 8, 1940. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in Racine. Marilee enjoyed going to Potawatomi. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed the slots.She is survived by her children, Starlet Makela, Rita (Mike Bentley) Rodriguez-Bentley and Diana (John) Lakatos; grandchildren, Cody, Brandon, Justin and Ryan Makela, Steven and Stacey Lakatos, John and Kristy Tomsich, Cassandra, Dylan and David Bentley; great grandchildren, Joel, Alexus and Talon; brothers, Alfred (Patty) Nelson and Ruben Hood; former husband and friend, Ruben Rodriquez; and dear friend Susan Peterson. Marilee is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents John C. and Mamie Palmer Hood, Aunt B and Uncle John and son in law Michael Makela.Funeral services for Marilee will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Private interment will take place. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
