Marie Matson Racine- Marie Matson, 88, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Friday, January 4, 2008.Marie was born in Michigan on November 30, 1919 to William and Lena (Schnetter) DuMont. She graduated from Horlick High School. Marie was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. She married Stanley Matson on September 2, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1994. Marie and Stanley owned the West Side Market on State Street for many years. She devoted her life to caring for her family.She is survived by her son, David Matson; daughters, Judith (James) Tishken and JoAnn (Mark Schmidt) Matson; three grandchildren, Joel, Julie and Michelle; 3 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Hannah and Caleb; sister, Lucille (Chuck) Buchman; and brother in law and sister in law, Dick (June) Matson. Marie is also survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jean and Janet Matson; parents, and brother and sister in law, Bob (Mary) DuMont.Funeral Mass for Marie will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials to St. Monica's Senior Citizen Home have been suggested.
