Pleasant Prairie- Marie E. DeWees, 83, nee: Weisenberger, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 10, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was known by friends and family as 'Little Mary' and she brought love and joy to all who knew her. Marie loved and excelled at cooking, baking, sewing, arts & crafts and golfing. Marie was an accomplished pianist and had the voice of an angel. She attended DePaul University. Marie was known for her big heart and great sense of humor. She was an excellent wife, homemaker and mother, who provided her husband and children with a warm and nurturing home filled with love and happiness.Marie leaves behind William, her beloved husband of 64 years and their four children, William Jr., Mary Beth (Brian) Miller, John David and Betty Jo (Lee) Fritz. Marie loved her seven grandchildren, Michael, Adam (Hollie) Miller and Nicholas Miller, Dr. Jonathan and Daniel DeWees, and Will and Ellie Fritz. She was overjoyed with her two great grandchildren, Elise and Owen Miller. She is also fondly remembered by her in laws, Nancy (Bud) Bosco and Darlene (Jack) Holt, many nieces, nephews and many dear friends, especially Mrs. Betty Jean Nurnberg. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (nee: Klammer) Weisenberger, her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mildred Weisenberger, sister-in-law, Betty Lee Hornbeck and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Elizabeth DeWees.The world is a much sadder place without Marie, but she will live joyfully in our hearts forever. It was an honor and pleasure to know and be with her.A celebration of Marie's life will be held at a later date.
