RACINE – Marian J. Borchardt, nee, Kauth, 86, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Marian was born in Racine on September 12, 1930 to Norbert and Rose (nee, Hrasky) Kauth. On October 15, 1949, Marian married Gerald A. "Jake" Borchardt at Holy Name Rectory. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2000. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Marian enjoyed gardening, canning fruits, vegetables and jams, cake decorating and sewing. Survivors include her son, Gerald J. Borchardt; six daughters and two sons in law, Barbara Mehalic, Bonnie Borchardt, Sylvia Mischo and Mary Borchardt, Lucille (Todd) Burbach, and Rose (Arturo) Martinez; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Reinhard and Violet Bartel; sister-in-law, Bertha Borchardt; longtime friend, Marge Trandel; her furry companion, "Missi"; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; great granddaughter, Megan Autumn Borchardt; brother, Herbert Kauth; sister-in-law, Lillian; and brothers-in-law, Gerald Bartel and Richard Reinhard. A memorial service for Marian will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. with a dinner to follow. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome in memory of Marian and memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
