Racine – Margaret A. Heaton, 86, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Margaret was born in North Dakota on June 6, 1926 to Arthur and Anna (nee, Katz) Chase. She married Frederick Heaton in North Dakota in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1990.The Heaton's moved to Milwaukee in the 1950's and after Margaret's retirement in the 90's she moved to Racine. Margaret's passion was her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Racine and was very patriotic and very dedicated to the many veteran's service organizations. Margaret is survived by her sister, Donna Mork; brother-in-law, Jim Kortesmaki; grandchildren, Daniel (Joann Haysmer-Wachs) Wachs, Ann Margaret Wachs and Shane Haysmer. Margaret is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her children, Cheryl Wachs and Patrick Heaton; and sister, Phyllis Kortesmaki. Memorial services for Margaret will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Gehne officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff's at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center and Allay Home Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
