Margaret ChristensenRacine- Margaret Rose Christensen (nee: Schuppe) daughter of George and Catherine born August 10, 1927 died June 13, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Family, Faith, and friends brought joy and guided her life. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. Family was her inspiration. A devout member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, and her long term service to Educator's Credit Union yielded countless friendships. Her enthusiasm for life sparked until the end. Margaret is survived by her eternally loving husband, Robert D. Christensen; Children, Gary (Kim) Reitsma, Cynthia (Frank) Bodnar and Jeffrey (Julie) Reitsma; step daughters, Linda ( David) Fox and Cheryl Betchkal; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; sisters Marie (Russell) Luedtke and Helen (Joseph) Pulice; brother Robert (Venice) Schuppe; sister in law Hattie Schuppe; and brother in law David (Barbara) Christensen. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Christensen, Jr., brothers, George, Henry, Fritz, Al and Jacob Schuppe; sister, Katherine Jacobs brother in law, Richard Christensen, and sister in law, Marcielle Bindel.Funeral services for Margaret will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1925 Summit Avenue on Monday, June 18, 2007 evening at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Janz officiating. Private family interment will take place. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday evening from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church have been suggested.
