Lydia JensenRacine- Lydia Jensen, 82, passed away at her son's home on Monday, September 24, 2007.Lydia was born in Racine on May 20, 1925 to Mikel and Mary (nee: Petz) Schaefer. She was a lifelong resident of Racine. Lydia married Dean A. Jensen at St. John's Lutheran Church on June 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1997. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Lydia is survived by her son and daughter in law, Steven (Mary) Jensen; daughter, Janice Vega; grandchildren, Erik, Evan, Elliott, and Ethan Jensen, Derek and Ryan Vega; brother, Andrew Schaefer; sisters, Martha (Charles) Halstead, Ida Seyferth and Esther Gallo. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.Funeral services for Lydia will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Private family interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church and School have been suggested.
