Racine – Louise M. (nee, Macemon) Kaestner, 84, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Sunday, October 11, 2009. Louise was born in Winona, MN on August 23, 1925 to Charles and Matilda (nee, Stein) Macemon. She married Jerome C. Kaestner at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church on November 24, 1945. They renewed their vows at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on their 50th anniversary. Jerome preceded her in death on April 4, 1998. Louise enjoyed crocheting, knitting, dancing and fishing with Jerome while spending time at their trailer on Little Green Lake, as well as spending time and always laughing with her loving family. She volunteered at the hospital and Harmony as well as serving as a Girl Scout Leader. Louise loved her church and saying the Rosary. She volunteered her time at church and taught Catechism. Louise loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her children, Diane Waid, Geraldine (Brett) Koll, Jeffrey Kaestner and Michael Kaestner; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kaestner; grandchildren, Lisa Doge, Jennifer (Michael) Waid-Jungwirth, Samantha Waid, Keith Mierisch, Allen Mierisch, Haley Kaestner, Jeffrey Kaestner, Jr. and Layla Kaestner; great grandchildren, Mark, Nick and "my boy" Jonathan; her brother, Jack Macemon, Sr. and special niece, Cheryl Galloway. Louise is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harry Macemon, Bud Macemon and Gordon Macemon; and sisters, Beverly Kyle and Bette Galloway. The Mass of Christian Burial for Louise will be held at St. Joseph Catholic church, Erie and St. Patrick Street, on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. celebrated by Rev. John Aiello. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. at the church on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for their years of friendship and their compassionate care shown to Louise.
