Obituary
Lorraine was born in Racine on April 22, 1925, to Herman and Louisa Seyferth, the youngest of ten children. On October 26, 1946, she married Harold E. "Mike" Matter, celebrating 68 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2015. Lorraine was passionate about gardening and working in her greenhouse. After her children were grown, she went to work at Milaegers. Lorraine had a strong faith and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Servi; son, Steve (Eunice) Matter; daughter-in-law, Val Matter; grandchildren, Matthew Matter, Andrew Matter, Gina (Mike) Lewis and Janna Servi; and her great grandchildren, Liam and Lilly Lewis. Lorraine is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary Matter and Michael Matter and son-in-law, Donald Servi.
Funeral services for Lorraine will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church have been suggested.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Willowgreen especially Lesa and Lydia and the caregivers at St. Croix Hospice especially Mike and Kathy for the care given to Lorraine.
