Racine – Lloyd V. Kohls, 75, passed away at his home on Monday, July 4, 2011. Lloyd was born in Cadott, WI on October 29, 1935 to John and Mildred (nee, Wood) Kohls. He served in the U.S. Army. On July 6, 1961 he married the former Marilyn Tesnow. Lloyd retired from Twin Disc after more than 30 years following which he was employed by Pro/A.O.A. Lloyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was past President of the Racine Explorer Scout Drum & Bugle Corp and was an active volunteer with Toys for Tots. Lloyd loved spending time musky fishing and camping in Rhinelander. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kohls; children, Michael (Laura) Kohls, Mark (Dena) Kohls and Rhonda (Kai) Sorensen; grandchildren, Joshua, Ben, Collin, John, Kelsey and Kaily; and his nephew, Neil Thomas. Lloyd is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Chet Thomas; and nephew, Lee Thomas. Funeral services for Lloyd will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 12 noon with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Interment will take place at Caledonia Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Wheaton Franciscan Hospice or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Lloyd's Doctors and nurses who cared for him as well as the Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for all of their compassionate care.
