Lisa Jean Janecky, a life-long resident of Racine, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at her home. She was 62 years old. Lisa was born on June 29, 1957. She attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee and graduated in 1975. She also briefly attended UW-Parkside in Kenosha. She married Michael Lee Janecky on February 15, 1980. Together, Mike and Lisa had two children, Crystal and Kyle. Lisa was a nail technician for many years before retiring. She was also a member of the Racine Curling Club for over four decades and participated in local and other bonspiels. She was a determined competitor. She was also a very creative person and was frequently called upon to plan for and decorate celebratory events for friends and family. Lisa loved "the cabin" in northern Wisconsin and spent much time there both as a child and as an adult. She loved everything about the north woods and enjoyed activities like kayaking and observing nature while there. Lisa is survived by her husband, Michael, their two children, Crystal (Robert) West of Belmont NC and Kyle Janecky of Encinitas, CA; her sister, Virginia (Leonard) Whyte of San Clemente, CA; and her three brothers, Marshall (Tricia) Lee III of Amherst Junction, WI, Mark (Sandi) Lee of Bull Shoals, AR, and Brian (Rebecca) Lee of Plover, WI. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Emmajane Herreid Lee. In honoring Lisa's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A private celebration of Lisa's life will take place at her beloved cabin. Lisa loved animals, especially her sassy cat, Jordan. Contributtions in her memory can be sent to your favorite animal rescue or to Lakeland Animal Shelter (who cared for Jordan) before Lisa adopted him from Sip and Purr Cat Café.
