Racine – Lily E. Krueger, 94, passed away at Clairidge House in Kenosha on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Lily was born in Racine on January 8, 1923 to Carl and Anna Andersen. She married Russell F. Kwapil on May 17, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1969. Lily married Glennert Krueger. He preceded her in death. Gene A. Passehl had been Lily's companion for 18 years. She retired from Western Publishing Company where she was employed for over 36 years. Lily was a former member of the Navy Mothers. She enjoyed her retirement years and loved spending her time in Arizona and Waupaca. Survivors include her children, Joanne Cruz, Russell (Janey) Kwapil and Susan Andersen; step daughter, Debra Mertins; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Lily is also survived by many great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and sons-in-law, Barbara (Curt) Helding, Jesus Cruz and Peter Andersen; granddaughter, Dawn Cruz; step-son, Glennert Krueger, Jr., and numerous brothers and sisters including her twin sister, Rose Webster. Memorial services for Lily will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Heather Bumstead officiating. Inurnment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:30 p.m. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Clairidge House for all their care and compassion.
