Leslie Rupnow Racine - Leslie Rupnow, 90, passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on Tuesday, September 11, 2007.Leslie was born in Watertown, WI on November 2, 1916 to Otto and Edna (nee, Schmeling) Rupnow. He married the former Evelyn J. Schmoock in Coloma, WI on February 24, 1940. Leslie won many trophies in the trap shooting clubs he belonged to. He hunted not only in Wisconsin, but also out west and loved to fish. He loved to play cards and watch baseball and football. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn J. Rupnow; children, Alice (Edwin) Walters, Beverly Loterbaugh, Elaine (Freddie) Elliott; son-in-law, Jean Nelis; grandchildren, Mark and Cindy Foth, Leslie and Berrack Walters, Kirby Walters, Keith and Vicky Elliott, David Elliott, Donald and Lynne Kolter, James and Lou Loterbaugh, and Craig and Jo Allen; 16 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Nelis; sister, Violet Heiden; brother, Melvin Rupnow; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Schmoock, Gilbert Schmoock, Antone Schmoock, Walter Tessman and Hollis Smith; and sister-in-law, Katherine Schmoock. Memorial services for Leslie will be held at Lutheran Chapel of the Cross, 1426 Fancher Road, on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Feldscher officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Randolph Cemetery in Randolph, WI. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lutheran Chapel of the Cross or Asera Care Hospice.
