RACINE – Leon B. Dassow, 67, passed away at the Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Medical Center on May 19, 2017. Leon was born in Taylor, WI on September 13, 1950 to John W. and Elsie (nee, Steinman) Dassow, Jr. He served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles," in Vietnam. Survivors include his spouse, Darlene Gallup; son, John Thomas (Mindie Carter) Henry; and his sister, Pat Walters. A service of committal with Full Military Honors for Leon will be held in the Chapel at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
