FRANKSVILLE - Leland J. Ulcek, 86, passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family, to be reunited with his heavenly father. Lee was born in Racine on September 20, 1931 to the late Joseph N. and Edna (Maas) Ulcek. He proudly served in the U.S. Airforce from April 4, 1949 to November 3, 1952. He was a Charter member of the Caledonia Fire Department and full-time fireman from July 2, 1967 to July 5, 1990. Lee was the last Charter member to retire. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 494 of Caledonia, he was also a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Caledonia. He also belonged to many classic car clubs and took great pride in his 1954 Hudson Hornet. Leland was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and playing cards.Leland was united in marriage to Cheryl L. Vassh on August 16, 1969. Father to Rebecca, Tammy and Terri. Grandfather to Shannyn (Brian), Shyanne, Heather, Robin, and Katheryn. Great Grandfather to Brenden, Shyla, Mykel, and Kenli. Loving Uncle to Johnny (Bernie), Shari (Mark) and Jerry Lee (Christine). Great uncle to Kara, Kyle, Ben, Wendy, Jonathan, Jake, Isabelle and Amelia. Proceeded in death by his Mother (Edna), Father (Joseph), Brother (Gerald), Niece (Peggy), Grandson (Kenneth) and many special friends. Leaving behind relatives and friends.Visitation for Lee will be held on Tuesday March 27, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM with funeral services to follow.
