Racine – Lee W. Dalgard, 81, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Lee was born in Racine on November 19, 1932 to Carl W. and Emma C. (nee, Jensen) Dalgard. He married the former Mildred Trick on November 7, 1970. Lee served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Western Publishing Company. Lee and Mildred loved to travel, visiting many countries on most continents. In addition they enjoyed many cruises. Most of all, Lee was a very giving person and had a strong commitment to volunteerism. The many organizations Lee volunteered for included Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, Big Brothers, The Lutheran High Thrift Store, Harmony Club, Golden K, the Intergenerational Fair and the Channel Ten Auction. Lee is survived by his wife, Mildred Dalgard; children, Michael (Marie) Dalgard, John (LeeAnn) Dalgard and Linda Ingalls; grandchildren, Adam (Kasey) Dalgard, Zachary (Crystal) Dalgard, Catherine Jarrett, Christine (Duane) Fry, Robyn (Nick) Plaisance and Roby Robertson; twelve great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary W. (Gretchann) Dalgard; and sister-in-law, Donna Dalgard; and cousin, Eleanor Krueger. Lee is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents' Daughter, Debra Robertson; and his brother, Dan W. Dalgard. A memorial service for Lee will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Mueller officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the Service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or a charity of one's choice.
