Union Grove – Laura Emmerling, 94, passed away at Oak Ridge Care Center on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Laura was born in Ste. Amelia, Manitoba, Canada on February 24, 1923 to Boudwin and Eliza (nee, Pettillion) Callewaert. She married Roy R. Emmerling at Epiphany Lutheran Church on January 23, 1943. They were married for 60 years. Laura worked with Roy at Emmerling's Bar in Sturtevant for 4 years. She cherished her children and grandchildren. Laura enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and playing cards with her family. Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy R. (Carolyn) Emmerling, Jr., Steven (Linda) Emmerling and Edward (Sue Ann) Emmerling; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sally (Harry) Borth, Linda (Frank) Haney, Sandra (Norman) Callies and Brenda Stockton; eight grandchildren, Robert (Kim) Emmerling and Tina Emmerling, Sara (Brian) McGregor, Andrew Borth, Dawn (Paul) Sherwood, Daniel (Brandie) Emmerling, Jennifer Haney and Matthew (Elizabeth) Callies; two step-grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren She is further survived by her sister, Irma Sturicz; sister-in-law, Susan Callewaert; brother-in-law, Robert Waraxa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, a great -grandchild, Haley her brothers, Jerome, Camille, Albert, Joseph and Frank Callewaert; and sisters, Martha Burns, Irene Schmidt and Mary Waraxa. Private family memorial services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
