Racine – LaSetty Zalesak, nee, Stransky, 84, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Saturday, January 25, 2014. LaSetty was born in Racine on March 30, 1929 to the late Walter J. and Sadie (nee, Pilger) Stransky. After her mother's premature death, LaSetty was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Charles and Irene (nee, Pilger) Hassel. On February 16, 1952 LaSetty married William H. Zalesak. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2005. LaSetty graduated from Dominican College of Racine with a degree in Music, following which she became a music teacher in Zion, IL. After the birth of her first son, she became a homemaker and continued her passion for music as a church organist for many years. She also loved gardening and bicycling with her husband because her family was the biggest part of her life.LaSetty is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Zalesak of Highlands Ranch, CO and Tim Zalesak of Racine. She is also survived by her granddaughter Zoe Zalesak of Highlands Ranch, CO. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Joe Zalesak of Racine and sister-in-law Mary Bliss of Glendale, AZ. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, January 29, 2014 from 11 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 12 noon with Rev. Ken Howe officiating. A private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ridgewood Activities Department or to the H.O.P.E. Safehouse of Racine, in accordance with her love of animals. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center for all the comfort and support they provided to our family and the compassionate care they provided to our mother. Their dedication is incredible and will never be forgotten.
