Kristy Kaye Gatzke Racine - Kristy Kaye Gatzke, 37, received her angel wings on Thursday January 24, 2008, peacefully, surrounded by her family following complications from childhood Leukemia.Kristy was born in Racine on October 11, 1970 to Jay and Mary (nee, Bauman) Gatzke. Kristy loved football. She was a Badger fan and loved rooting for the Steelers and the Eagles. Kristy enjoyed angels, music and animals, especially wolves and her Teddy Bears. Kristy will always be remembered by her family as a true fighter, a strong individual and has been an inspiration to us all. She was and always will be our hero.Survivors include her parents, Jay and Mary Gatzke; sister, Kelly (Kelly) Stanek; uncles, Gary (Jodi) Gatzke, Barry Bauman and Doug (Clara) Vincent; and her aunt, Lynn (Ron) Johnson. Kristy is also survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Al and Betty Gatzke; maternal grandparents, Kaye and Jean Bauman; and her buddies, Buzzie and Ivy, the dogs and Gramps the cat.Private family services will be held.
