Kevin A. Pettit, 65, passed away at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Friday, February 19, 2021. Kevin was born in Houston, Texas on July 2, 1955 to Alton H. and Sophie (nee, Lipa) Pettit, Jr. Kevin earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Soon after that he passed the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant. Kevin worked as the Director of Benefits for the Plumbers and Steamfitters for 10 years prior to starting his own accounting business called LL Tax Service in Racine. That business expanded over the years to multiple locations including Delevan and Lake Geneva. Some of his most rewarding work came from helping people start their own businesses. Early in his business career, he took time to teach Catechism classes at St Patrick Catholic Church in Racine. On April 17, 1982 he married the love of his life, the former Mary Frerichs, celebrating 38 years of marriage. He loved being creative with landscaping the wooded areas surrounding his home. Most of all, he was passionate about collecting all kinds of Panda paraphernalia and then proudly displaying them in very creative ways throughout his home for his wife to enjoy and treasure. Survivors include his wife, Mary Pettit; son, Andrew (Ariel) Pettit; grandchildren, Zara and Charlotte Pettit; his mother, Sophie Pettit; and his brothers, Alex (Christine) Pettit and Ross (Cheryl) Pettit. Kevin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He will truly be missed by the many friends he made throughout the years as he was a very caring person. He was preceded in death by his father. A very special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center who gave their everything during the recent months of care Kevin received. In remembrance of Kevin's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The American Heart Association.
