Racine – Kenneth C. Reth, 92, passed away at Lakeshore Manor on Monday, December 11, 2017. Ken was born in Racine on May 21, 1925 to Fred and Luella (nee, Kissner) Reth. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII landing in Normandy France with his Tank Battalion. Upon returning to Racine he worked for Belle City Malleable for several years. He then worked as an Optician for Herslof Opticians for more than fifty years before his retirement. Ken was a very giving person, supporting many local charities and organizations. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters and brothers, June Leimberger, LaVerne Jorgensen, Erland Reth and Ronald Reth. He was survived by his sister-in-law, Dee Reth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Ken will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Communion Lutheran Church.
