RACINE – Kenneth R. Mueller, 73, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.Ken was born in Beloit, WI on August 25, 1941 to George and Leone (nee, Mertins) Mueller. He was a graduate of Racine Lutheran High School. On November 28, 1964, Ken married the former Margaret Hellmann at St. John's Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on June 18, 1996. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ken served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He retired from Wisconsin Natural Gas Company after more than 29 years where he was Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications. Throughout the years, Ken served on various committees with the American Gas Association, Midwest Gas Association, Gas Research Institute, Wisconsin Utilities Association and the Wisconsin Blue Flame Council. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Racine United Way, Credit Bureau of Racine, Racine Lutheran High School and committees at the Racine YMCA and St. John's Lutheran Church.Ken enjoyed participating in numerous activities in his lifetime including stamp collecting, gardening, golfing, and card-playing. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Wisconsin Badgers. He was a huge supporter of Racine Lutheran High School athletics, and for many years was the voice of the Crusader's home football and basketball games. Survivors include his children, Kristin (Rob) Chiappetta, Steve (Carmen) Mueller and Karen (Keith) Gayheart and; grandchildren, Lauren, Brittnee, Jaycob, Colton and Addison; his sister, Janet (Glenn) Graminske; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Harry) Gall and Joan Klaas. Ken is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Susan.Funeral services for Ken will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie Street (corner of Kewaunee and Erie Streets), on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Racine Lutheran High School Endowment Fund or the St. John's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
