Kathleen A. Nelson, 78, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 in her home following a long illness of lung disease and dementia.
Kitty was born in Racine on February 16, 1948 to George and Lillian (nee, Mizynski) Rickert. On August 20, 1966, she married Terrance W. Nelson at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Kitty was employed with Eagle Luggage, Hamilton Beach and Jacobson Mfg. She was a life member of the Harley Owners Group and loved motorcycle riding and going up north to the cottage. Kitty enjoyed playing softball, bowling, darts, attending Jazzercise and walking.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Nelson; children, Michael Nelson, and Jenny & John Vermeulen. Kitty is further survived by her brother-in-law Dan Nelson; her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Georgia Rickert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Jeanette Nelson; brothers-in-law, Rick Nelson and Jeff Nelson; and her sister-in-law Sally Nelson.
Services for Kathleen will be held privately. Memorials may directed to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the Humane Society.
