Obituary
Racine- Kathleen C. Karpinsky, 79 passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in her home.
She was born in Blue Island, IL on July 31, 1945 to the late Paul and Sue (nee: Brtis) Pribula.
Kathy attended Salem Lutheran School and was a graduate of Lutheran High School, South, Chicago, and Concordia Teacher's College, River Forest, IL.
In 1968, Kathy was married to Roy D. Karpinsky in Blue Island, IL.
She taught for 35 years, 29 of which were spent with 1 st grade students at St. John's Lutheran School in Racine. Kathy was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the bell choir for over 25 years and led the children's chime choir. She enjoyed the ladies bible class and quilting group at the church. Kathy will be remembered for sharing Jesus's love for all and singing faith-filled songs that gave her so much joy.
Outside of church, she enjoyed camping, doing counted cross stitch, collecting thimbles, making cards and making memories with her family.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 56 years Roy Karpinsky; her children Kristin (Dave) Elliott, David Karpinsky and John (Dawn) Karpinsky; her grandchildren Elizabeth Elliott, Emma Elliot and Owen Karpinsky and her brother Paul (Laurel) Pribula.
Funeral services for Kathleen will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St John's Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie Street, Racine with Rev. Jack Gilbert and Joshua DeYoung officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or School or to one's favorite charity.
