Kathleen Joy Kabelis
Kathleen Joy Kabelis, 74, passed away at home on Thursday, February 8,2024.
Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 28, 1949 to Carl D. and Evelyn M. (nee; Shell) Kemp. She married Joseph E. Kabelis on April 15, 1971, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1993. Kathy was employed as a nursing assistant for many years at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She worked at Six Flags Great America in the greenhouse with her three boys and daughter-in-law until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and rescuing and caring for the baby bunnies she found. Kathy loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandsons.
She is survived by her sons, Karl Joesph Kabelis, Thomas Scott (Mary) Kabelis and Matthew Jeremy Kabelis, grandsons Nathaniel Joseph and Aaron David Kabelis, and sister Debby Lynn (Jim) Wilhelmi. Kathy is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Blake, Jr.
A memorial service for Kathy will be held at Soul's Harbor Church, 2400 63 rd Street, Kenosha on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
