Karl Friedrich passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 4 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, and their children: Karl Friedrich (Lisa Stupar), Elfrieda Jacobs (Michael), and Christina Guehlstorf. He was a loving grandpa to Karl, Tia, Tanner, Heather, Dylan, Mackenzie, Travis, Hannah, and Kelsey, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jakob and Agnes, and siblings Jakob, Nikolaus, Martin, Johann, and Jakob. He has one surviving brother, Gerhard.
Karl immigrated from Germany in 1952 at the age of 11 with his family, who settled in Racine. He met his beloved wife, Sandra , whom he married in 1963. He worked and retired from JI Case Company after 37 years of dedicated service. He was an active person who enjoyed playing soccer, golf, and bowling. One of his proudest accomplishments was being inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame.
Karl cherished spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He loved to spoil them when babysitting and attended all of their school and sporting events, always being their number one fan. He was known for his enthusiastic cheering from the sidelines and his insightful advice after games.
He enjoyed frequenting his favorite diners, where he was a familiar face. Every summer, he eagerly anticipated attending Germanfest in Milwaukee. There, he could celebrate his heritage, enjoy schnitzel and beer, and be surrounded by his family and relatives.
Karl will be remembered for his warm spirit, quiet strength, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Funeral services for Karl will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, HWY 32, Caledonia.
