RACINE – Karen L. (nee, Petersen) Checki, 51, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Karen was born in Racine on April 14, 1964 to Ronald and Judith (nee, Christensen) Petersen. Karen loved the outdoors which included fishing. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing spending time with her family and caring for her pets. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Michael; sister, Kristi (Daniel May) Petersen; brother, Kenneth (Stacey) Petersen; nieces and nephews, Soren May, Lauren, Dana, and Nicholas Petersen; and her mother in law, Marilyn Checki. Karen is further survived by sisters-in-law, Mary White, Karen M. Checki, Debra (Scott) Gray; and her brothers-in-law, Daniel Checki, Stephen Checki and David (Gloria) Checki. Karen is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; grandparents, Irving and Evelyn Christensen; and father in law, Edward Checki. Funeral services for Karen will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
