Obituary

Justin Weitkum passed serenely on June 18 th , 2024, after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was born and lived his 28 years in Racine, WI and his final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends he touched in his short yet memorable life.

Justin was a gentle soul, at 6'6" some even called him a 'Gentle Giant.' His incredible empathy allowed him to always speak to people free of judgment or condescension and he loved all types of people for exactly who they were. He had a unique ability to keep things silly even in the face of so much adversity, and his light was contagious. In his younger days, you may have seen Justin riding his BMX bike to the skate park, wearing a smile and scraped knees. He had an affinity for animals- especially his beloved cat, Nemo, and loved the natural world. He enjoyed many camping trips, hikes, and adventures throughout his life and had a special appreciation for the silence of the outdoors. As much as he loved the quiet he also had a love of rock music, anime, gaming, and the friends he made in his online gaming community.

Justin will forever be loved and missed by his mother Nichole Carrion, father John Weitkum, stepmother Michelle Gabor, brothers Joey and Jacob, sister Lizzie Fletcher, grandma Edith Weitkum, grandma and grandpa John and Judi Gabor, aunt Dawn (Frank) Marano, aunt Cari (Dave) Fritsche, aunt Chrissy Tuttle, cousins Jamie, Nick, Carly, Paiton, Nash, Cecily, Max, Joe and Zach, and many friends.

Private services will be held.  To honor Justin's love of nature, please be encouraged to make a donation on his behalf to the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks,  23 S. Main Street Suite O, Hartford, WI 53027, or online www.fwsp.org .

On behalf of Justin and his family: thank you to the many loved ones, friends, and co-workers who encourage, love, and support us all along the way. Thank you to all of the people who provided care at Froedtert, Horizon Hospice, and the Lawlis Family Hospice.
