Obituary

Racine – Our dear mom Joyce Lorraine Kleba, 80, joined her beloved husband Walt on what would have been his 81st birthday January 4, 2013. Joyce was born in Milwaukee to Emma (nee: Schwerm) and Robert E. Campbell on January 7, 1932. She worked as a roller skating carhop among other jobs and met Walt while she was a USO hostess at the Marine Club in Milwaukee. She married him on August 15, 1953 and they moved to Racine in May 1963.Joyce was actively involved in her daughters' school lives & activities and when they grew older she went back to work as an accounting clerk for Clifton Gunderson & Company and stayed for 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, volleyball & swimming at the YWCA, lunching & shopping and was famous for her wonderful Christmas cookies. She was born a Green Bay Packers fan and also never missed a Badgers or Brewers game. She enjoyed many years riding on the back of Walt's motorcycle and their yearly trips to Texas, Nevada and California. She was a kind and giving soul - a tireless caretaker. Joyce is survived by her daughters Valerie Kleba Mazelis (Fred Lomire) of Racine and Mary Kleba (Don Hollyfield) of Austin, Texas; her brother Donald (Peggy) Campbell of Venice, Florida and nieces Joanie Wagner, Donna Campbell-Winter, Sally Mane & Maria Veldre and their families; her brother-in-law Fran Kleba of Elm Grove and nephews James & John Kleba and their families; and her sister-in-law Jean Wolfer of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by her best friend Gladys Christiansen (Merle Seibt) of Muskego, the Mathews family and many close cousins and other dear friends. We invite all of Joyce's family and friends to join us in a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Summit Restaurant, 6825 Washington Avenue (Highway 20), Racine, Wisconsin. And we would like to say a special thank you to all her doctors & nurses over the years who helped make her life more comfortable and to the Chiappetta family of Kenosha for all her shoes which are still lined up in the closet saying 'Take me today! Take me!'
