Joyce E. JamesRacine- Joyce E. James, 87, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Center in Union Grove on Monday, January 7, 2008.Joyce was born in Racine on July 10, 1920 to Arthur and Clara (nee: Berg) Matson. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.Survivors include her husband, Richard James of Union Grove; children, Tom James of Racine, Steven (Polly) James of Nashotah, Jennifer (Tony) Catrine of Racine; granddaughters, Amy (Eric) Haertel of Racine and Katie Sasse of Milwaukee; step grandchildren, Brian (Kris) Catrine of Waukesha, Aaron (Jaymee) Catrine of Surprise, AZ and Tina (Chuck) Murry of Racine; great grandchildren, Seth Haertel, Alex and Jason Catrine, Tanner Catrine, and Hailey Murry; sisters in law, Betty Matson of Boulder, CO and Ellie James of Germantown and brothers in law, Jack LePoidevin and Bill James both of Racine.. Joyce is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sterling Matson.Private family services for Joyce will be held. Interment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to Alzheimer's Association of Wisconsin, 517 N. Segoe Road, Suite 301, Madison, WI 53705.The family would like to thank the 1st floor staff at Boland Hall for all of the wonderful care given to Joyce.
