Josephine K. Vassh Josephine K. Vassh, 88, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Thursday, November 22, 2007. Josephine was born in Racine on January 31, 1919 to Frank and Josephine (nee, Liacker) Kapellusch. She married John Vassh in Topeka, KS on October 12, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1970. Josephine was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she spent many years active in the choir and Ladies Aid Society. She was a foster grandmother to many children at Southern Colony, enjoyed reading her Bible, singing, cooking and creating beautiful crafts. Josephine loved her family and friends and will be remembered and greatly missed. Josephine is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Sophie) Vassh, Sandra (Charles) McCammon, Debra (Dennis) Webster, Cheryl (Lee) Ulcek and Alice Taves; 13 beloved grandchildren; 15 beloved great-grandchildren; 4 beloved great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Leonard Kapellusch, Ernie Kapellusch and Eddie (Shirley) Kapellusch. Josephine is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Clarence and Lawrence Kapellusch; sisters, Ella Peterson, Ruth Belasic and Esther Short; and sisters-in-law, Eloise Kapellusch and Helen Kapellusch. Funeral services for Josephine will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4649 Lora Street, on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hilbert Kamps officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
