Joseph J. Wanek Racine- Joseph J. Wanek, 80, passed away after a short but courageous battle with kidney and colorectal cancer at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha on Sunday, December 21, 2008.Joe was born in West Allis on February 10, 1928 to James and Antoinette (nee: Vejsovec) Wanek. He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage. Joe was avid golfer and fisherman. He was also a lover of dogs. Most importantly Joe was a good father, grandfather and friend. He was always good to his family.Joe is survived by his daughter and son in law, Beth (Robert) David; granddaughters, Kim Rickert, Ashley Wanek McCue, and Allison McCue and great grandson, Carmello Rickert and former wife and best friend Cynthia Wanek. He is also survived by extended family and many dear friends. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristy Wanek.A get together for family and friends will be held after the holidays at Joe's favorite watering hole.The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and staff at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha ICU.
