Racine- Joseph D. Taves, 56 passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 in his home.
He was born in Racine on July 5, 1967 to Dennis E. Taves and Alice E. (nee: Vassh) Taves.
Joe was a 1985 graduate of William Horlick High School and served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge.
He ran his own 5-Star transport company Sevat Transport and was employed as a truck driver for S. Abraham & Sons Inc.
Joe was a sports-fan enthusiast. He played volleyball and liked to bowl. He enjoyed watching and playing football, baseball and basketball; and was mentioned many times in the newspaper for his talents. More recently, he enjoyed canoeing. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandson Jordon who was the light of his life.
He is survived by his two sons Joseph J. Taves and Noel Taves; his mother Alice Taves; his father Dennis Taves; his grandson Jordon Taves; his sisters Eileen (John) Anzalone and Debbie (Steve) Swenson; and his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation for Joseph will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Purath-Strand Funeral Home.
