Racine – Johnie Mae Cooper, 92, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.Johnie was born on October 30, 1921 to Mary Walker and John Madison in Mayfield, Kentucky. She moved to Racine in 1948. She worked for Olsons Dry Cleaning Company and High Ridge Hospital. She retired from High Ridge Hospital in 1985 after 25 years of service.Johnie loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was infectious.She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Mary Jean Lane of Racine, Granddaughters April (Derrick) Polk of Racine, Tracy (Craig) Lane-Hall of Jonesboro, GA and Amanda Bigalk of Milwaukee, WI. Great grandchildren Siobhan Polk of Milwaukee, Aris Hall of Clemon, SC, Alexander (Kendra) Hall of College Park, GA, Andrew Hall of Jonesboro, GA and Demetrius Polk of Racine. Great-great grandchildren Kaleil, Ayana and Zayah Hall. A very special nephew and niece James Lee (Pam) Orr of Chanhassen, MN and Carolyn Hale of Indianapolis, IN. Great nieces and nephew Lori (Dennis) Hadley, Stephanie Hale, Shanna (John) Sabol, Megan Orr and Nigel Bryant. Great-great nieces and nephew Kayla Hale, Candace Pratt, Anthony Pratt and Gracie Sabol. Daughter-in-law Judith Pryor of Racine. A devoted friend for over 60 years, Mrs. Irene Lee of Racine and special friend Mrs. Sandra Trott of Racine.She was preceded in death by her husband Homer, parents, sisters; Effie Carmen and Grace Walker and brothers; Leonard and Clint Walker, son A.G. Pryor and son-in-law Keith Lane.The funeral services for Johnie will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 614 Main Street, on Monday, August 18, 2014 at noon with Fr. David Miracle officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at noon.
