RACINE – John Norris, 76, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Thursday, December 23, 2021.John was born in Milwaukee on July 24, 1945 to Frank and Anita (nee: Rossow) Norris. On February 4, 1967, John married the love of his life, Sally Sweet, and they celebrated nearly 55 years of marriage together. John spent many years working as a contract manager for Bucyrus-Erie. Family meant everything to him. He and Sally spent many years at their Mapleview Resort cabin in Northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed being on the lake, fishing, campfires with family and friends, music and cocktails and also taking slow boat rides around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery. After retirement, John and Sally were Arizona "snowbirds" during the winter months. He also enjoyed golfing, playing poker, taking walks and going to the casino. Mostly, John and Sally loved spending time together and with family. John was a regular at the YMCA and enjoyed being with his friends at the Caledonia Senior Card Club. He had a great sense of humor, an infectious smile and loved sharing quirky jokes with those around him.John is survived by his loving wife, Sally; son, Mike (Cheri) Norris and daughter, Becky (Tony) DeRosia;grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin Norris; Kayla and Courtney DeRosia; brother, Jerry (MeiYing) Norris; brothers-in-law Ron, Russ and Roger (Chris) Sweet; step sisters-in-law Shirley (Mel) Wicke, Barb (Dick) Boucher and Chris Tofte. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in law, Edmund and Ursula Sweet and Edmund's second wife, Reggie; sister-in-law Jane Sweet, and brother-in-law, Dick Sweet.A memorial service for John will be held at Purath-Strand Funeral Home on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home that day from 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorials to the American Heart Association have been suggested. The family would like to thank the staff at Ascension All Saints Hospital for their care of John.
